How a 90 Day Pool Installation Takes Shape

How a 90 Day Pool Installation Takes Shape

Design, permits, dig, steel, plumbing, gunite, tile, deck, plaster, startup — a week-by-week walkthrough of a realistic 90 day custom pool build in Tampa Bay.

A realistic custom pool build in Tampa Bay takes about 90 days from ground-breaking to first swim, weather permitting. Here's how those weeks break down: weeks one and two are excavation and steel — we dig the shell, set the rebar cage, and pass the pre-gunite inspection. Weeks three and four bring plumbing and electrical rough-in, then gunite (the structural concrete shell).

Weeks five through eight are tile, coping, and decking. This is where the pool starts to look like a pool: waterline tile goes on, the coping caps the bond beam, and pavers or travertine define the surrounding deck. Equipment gets set, plumbed, and wired during this phase.

Weeks nine through twelve are plaster, fill, and startup. We chip out any imperfections, apply the interior finish, fill the pool, and begin the plaster cure. Your dedicated startup technician takes over from there, brushing daily and balancing chemistry until the pool is ready to swim.
